AN ADDITIONAL COMPETITION FOR THE ETC® 2025
“The National Taxidermy Team Competition”

As we have competitors from over 30 different countries, we can assert that ETC® is the most international taxidermy competition globally.

But which country boasts the overall best taxidermists? Some claim it’s the Netherlands, while others argue for Denmark, Germany, or Hungary, and some have another country in mind. Well, let’s find out!

At the ETC® 2025, we are introducing the fun and friendly competition, “The National Taxidermy Team Competition.”

Each country can register a “National Taxidermy Team”

The process is simple:

  • ETC® appoints a taxidermist in each country as the “National Taxidermy Team Captain.” If you would like to apply to be the “National Taxidermy Team Captain” you can send an e-mail to: sharon@eurotaxidermy.eu
  • All National Team Captains will be announced on the ETC website with contact information.
  • Anyone can apply via email to the Captain to be a member of the “National Taxidermy Team” for their country – a dedicated page on the ETC website will facilitate this registration.
  • By the deadline, each country’s Captain will set the National Taxidermy Team and inform the applicants who made the official team.
  • A National Taxidermy Team must consist of a multiple of 3 taxidermists (minimum 3, maximum 12).
  • Each team must have an equal number of taxidermists with entries in the following divisions: Master, Professional, and Novice.
  • If more than 12 taxidermists from one country want to be part of the National Taxidermy Team, the Captain can select the team of 12, with preference given to those with the highest scores in the relevant divisions at previous ETC® events.

There are three awards in “The National Taxidermy Team Competition”

  1. ETC®National Taxidermy Team GOLD Winners = the team with the highest average score of points.
  2. ETC®National Taxidermy Team SILVER Winners = the team with the second highest average score of points.
  3. ETC®National Taxidermy Team BRONZE Winners = the team with the third highest average score of points.

The score in “The National Taxidermy Team Competition” is calculated from the average score of the teams’ entries in the individual competition (no separate entries for the National Team competition). If a taxidermist has multiple entries in a division, only the entry with the highest score counts.

Calculation of scores:

Example 1: A National Team of 3 taxidermists has scores of 93 points in the Master Division,82 points in the Professional Division, and 62 points in the Novice Division. The average is (93+82+62) divided by 3 = 79 points.

Example 2: A National Team of 6 taxidermists (2 in each division) has scores of 93 and 89 points in the Master Division, 82 and 75 points in the Professional Division, and 78 and 62 points in the Novice Division. The average is (93+89+82+75+78+62)divided by 6 = 79.83 points.

Example 3: A National Team of 12 taxidermists (4 in each division) has scores of 93, 90, 86,82 points in the Master Division, 91, 83, 78, 75 in the Professional Division,and 75, 73, 69, 65 points in the Novice Division. The average is(93+90+86+82+91+83+78+75+75+73+69+65) divided by 12 = 80 points.

If there are 2 teams with the exact same average score, the winning team is the team that have the highest scoring individual taxidermist.
